Performance Management Services

iPower's performance management and benchmarking services are grounded upon government, industry, and academia best practices. Using the SEI's CMMI, Six Sigma, ISO 9000, ITIL and other models , we benchmark our client’s organizational maturity and process area capabilities, establish priorities for improvement, and guide implementation of those improvements. Our approach begins with the definition of executive and senior management’s business objectives and needs for the organization. Through interchanges with appropriate managers, we assist our clients in acquiring a thorough understanding of their organizational processes in relationship to their business objectives and goal. We thoroughly analyze the performance of existing processes and explicitly plan and deploy specific improvements to those processes. We use appropriate models and standards to benchmark our client's organizational process capabilities and then assist in integrating proven practices throughout their organizations.

We also leverage technology to assist our clients in achieving their business goals by optimizing the intelligent use of traditional and web-enabled technologies. We assess and benchmark products and tools and strategically select those that have widespread application to our client's needs. We develop, evaluate and customize products and tools as necessary to meet specific requirements. Our development is focused upon building systems that maximize functionality, usability, scalability and performance. We plan for incremental rollouts to assist in solving immediate problems while establishing the overall framework for enterprise-wide improvements.

Establishing a performance or benchmarking plan as a core element of an organization's management methodology is key to enabling the implementation of and adaptation to technological changes. Once established, strategic organizational planning can then be integrated into an organizational process improvement plan that generates improvements in productivity and profitability at reduced risk. Services we provide to our clients in this area include process definition and development, performance criteria development, performance benchmarking, process assessments, mentoring and quality assurance at the operational, organizational and project levels. We additionally provide support in requirements analysis, configuration management, measurement and analysis, web design and development, and web-enabled application development.

In preparing for a benchmarking assessment, iPower initially makes contact with the organization's sponsor and focuses on business objectives that have created the need for the assessment. iPower then properly matches the needs of the sponsor to the type and magnitude of the assessment and gathers data through a combination of interviewing techniques and documentation review. iPower's subsequently analyzes and verifies data through comparison to relevant portions of the selected industry standard/model to produce assessment results, including statements of strengths and weaknesses.

Appraisal Services

An approved SEI Partner for CMMI, iPower is licensed to administer the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI). SCAMPI appraisals are the standard tools for benchmarking process area capability and maturity level profiles against CMMI models. A SCAMPI provides insight into an organization's process area capability and maturity by identifying strengths and weaknesses of current processes relative to CMMI models and disciplines. iPower offers SCAMPI Class A, Class B and Class C appraisal services.

SCAMPI Class A: These appraisals are used to formally benchmark the maturity of an organization. Class A appraisals have rigorous standards for detailed data collection and for identification and coverage of the specific organizational unit being appraised. Ratings from Class A appraisals can be used for marketing and for accommodating contractual requirements. They can also be used to recognize the attainment of a specific maturity level. SCAMPI is the only SEI approved Class A appraisal.

SCAMPI Class B and Class C Appraisals: SCAMPI Class B and C appraisals are used to evaluate gaps between an organization's processes and CMMI requirements. Class C and B appraisals have relaxed standards from those of Class A. Ratings, therefore, are not provided in Class B or Class C appraisals. Typically, organizations getting started with CMMI will utilize a Class B or C appraisal to establish a baseline and to generate improvement plans. SCAMPI Class B and C appraisals can also be used to update baselines for achieving continuous process improvements, to verify progress and to prepare for a formal Class A appraisal.

iPower also sponsors candidates to become SCAMPI Lead Appraisers. SCAMPI Lead Appraisers are authorized to train appraisal teams on the SCAMPI methodology and to lead appraisals of iPower's clients.
